Rules & Etiquette

We know how to combine the golf traditions with the new golf trends in golf

Use of Buggies

Our course is designed to allow play walking and in buggies.

Preferably, it is recommended to use the natural paths, but depending on the condition of the course you can ride on the fairways.
To drive buggies you must be at least 18 years of age.

Please respect the instructions of the Club’s staff.

Slow Play

The average time for a round of golf on Royal Guadalhorce Golf Club is 4 hours and 15 minutes.

If you cannot find your ball and the group behind are waiting please allow them to play through.

If you have lost ground to the group in front and the group behind are waiting please allow them to play through.

If you persist to play slowly the Marshall may give you instructions to pick up your ball and proceed to the next hole.

Social Code

For everyone’s benefit we recommend appropriate clothing, for members as well as visitors.

To dress without a shirt or top is prohibited both on the course and in the Club’s facilities.

Bermuda shorts are allowed on the course, but not in the restaurant. Shirts or blouses must have a collar.

No tracksuits, T-shirts, beachwear or jeans are permitted. It is essential to wear golf shoes to play the course.

Players should show consideration to others on the golf course and should moderate their voices and behaviour at all times. Mobile phones should be switched off or put on silent mode during the round to avoid disturbing other players. Players who behave inappropriately will be asked to leave the course.

To look after and maintain the condition of the course you are asked to repair pitchmarks and replace divots.

Our staff are at your service for any help or service that you may need.
